The switch has failed on my wbs100 I can find suppliers for the brushes but none list a switch. I have googled the number on the switch and whilst similar they are not the same. Can anyone suggest whom may stock and supply one. Even rs components have nothing. All advice welcome as the sander although old has had very little use and too good to bin.

Your sander is very similar to a Makita 9403.

Not sure what the connection is but someone told me that Makita bought the Wolf brand many moons ago. Probably rubbish but they do look spookily similar. Check the spare parts for the Makita.

Good luck

Paul

I know that for, at least a few years, many Wolf tools were re-branded Makitas. I bought my electric plane in the early '70s. I had intended to purchase a Wolf after having great service from my Wolf drill. My local tool shop had the same machine, except for two rather than one guide bar on the fence, with the Makita brand name. When the Makita Electric Works icon was shown me on the Wolf spec plate my mind was made up. I bought the Makita.
Within the last twenty-odd years I have bought a 4" Wolf belt sander, badged with the Makita icon on the spec plate. It happily accepts Makita spares. If you are lucky yours will too. The Makita icon is a single letter M with the letters E and W just below each vertical of the M. The whole lot is inside a circle.

Hi, if I'm not mistaken, your Wolf will most likely be the Makita 9401, there have been a few minor changes to that model over the years. Switch is SWITCH HPAHR2-3S 9217SPC, available from Miles for £ 11.71.
Makita being Makita have a wide variety of parts available, and exploded diagrams with part nos, all availabe online.

Hi, this is the Wolf I was thinking of, the model numbers don't tally. so maybe its not the correct model. Definitely a Makita though

Well I went to our friendly tool repair shop in Norwich, the guy was very helpful although he did smile when I took the sander in? back in 48 hours with a new switch fitted and tested all for a tenner. brilliant service, I am now a happy camper again.....
thanks to everyone who took the time to reply, the Makita links and parts will be helpful in the future I don't doubt.
