Window Frames?

Evening All,

Anyone out there recommend any construction details for making wooden window frames?

I am restoring a house in my spare time (whatever that is!) and am wanting to make the windows next. They'll be the usual double glazed fair, fixed / hinged vents.

Anyone made any before? What sort of dimensions for timber sections do you recommend? I was thinking rebated 4x2 for the frame, 2x2 for the hinged vents. Mortice and tenons for the joints?

Any prompts gladly received. I've got 5 to make and would hate to make 4 and then have a good idea!

Why not pop in to your local Wickes store sam and surreptitiously check out the sections on their windows.
