Wimbledon - Jack Douglas or Morecambe & Wise?

Referring to the noise some of the players make. I don't follow tennis but happened to be in the room while some matches were on. So there was one man who reminded me of Jack Douglas each time he hit the ball ( wa- heyyy). Then two ladies, one with a wooooo and the other with a yahhh. I immediately thought ' boom woo ya ta ta ta'. (Anyone remember that?)

Must he a distraction for the opponent though.

Been an ongoing debate for years... I always thought if they put their wasted grunting-energy into their batting hand, they'd be unstoppable.

I well remember "Boom, oooh, ya ta ta" ("That was Sid & Dick. Dick's got kids you know!").

But NEVER watch tennis!
