I currently have an old Willow Whippet-Off belt sander mounted on one of my benches and never use it so am looking to replace it with a disc sander.

the sander is the same as the attached photo

just wondering if anyone could advise what it may be worth?

it comes with a 1/2hp hoover motor & belt.

thanks

simon

Hi Simon, I have no idea how much the whipitoff belt sander is worth. I am actually wondering if you could do me a favour .I have the same grinder but the two cams for tightening the belt are missing. If its not too much trouble could you trace the profile of those cams on a piece of paper and send it to me. I would be very gratefull and naturally would pay for postage. Michael Spruhan. Why don't you add a diy sanding disk to the end off the shaft.
When I run my disk/Belt Sander I remove the belt, so much quieter.
Don't use the belt often, but now and again it's handy to have.
Going to modify mine someday to stand vertically and add 12" disk over current 6"disk.

Just a thought for you

I dont need a spare but would be lost without mine....now years old..it's normally on casters....I would not sell mine at any cost....v/diff to replace...
I'd say a starting price of £25 on ebay and accept 75 or more.....
the motor if it has quiet bearings is worth at least 25,,,,
