Hello,

I'm hoping to make a tosrion box assembly table over Christmas following this video:

http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/videos/episode-18-assembly-table-torsion-box/

The MDF grid components are put together with glue and a brad nailer.

I don't have a brad nailer, but I recently bought this finish nailer : http://bostitch.co.uk/products/tool-details/fn1664-e/ and am awaiting delivery of a compressor.

Can I use these fasteners - http://bostitch.co.uk/products/fastener-details/16g25fc/ in the finish nailer for the job? (MDF components are 22mm)

Or would I be better off buying brad nailer?

Cheers

If you're nailing through 22mm then I'd go for something longer than the 25mm pins, you'd be better off with 38mm or so.
The pins/brads/nails you've linked to are the same sort that are used in a second fix paslode gun so I don't think you'll go wrong with what you've chosen.

The nailer is an air nailer and the nails are supplied with fuel for a gas nailer. They also look to be angled to go in a framing nailer not straight as required by the gun you have linked to. Just had another look and it shows the air nailers below as compatible.....can't see why the nail ad should mention fuel???

Cheers lads,

Sorry, posted the nails for gas nailer. So I'll go for 38mm then, was just worried that maybe a finish nailer would have too much power / kickback or something for a fiddly job like that as I've not used nailers before, anyway I'll practice on lots of scrap before I go near any glued edges.

Thanks again

All good guns will have an adjuster to set the depth of the nail below the surface. A quick read of the manual over a cuppa will sort it :)
