I got bug ger all done today..........................

capacitor blew cutting the second bit of wood of the day...

spent nearly 3 hours trying to find one .....

found one and made a 50 mile round trip to collect it...

had just enough time to repair it and lock the workshop up before going home.....

When the capacitor blew on my old Nu Tools lathe, I was really pee'd off. Then I thought . . . if its just a starter capacitor, spinning the chuck should get it going - and it did! AND, I could spin it backwards for sanding! So, when I eventually fitted a new capacitor, I added a switch that could disconnect it for sanding. Worked a treat!

The same trick would probably have worked with your saw, but spinning a multi-toothed blade to get it going - I don't think so !! #-o

Not a problem with a lakky band! Not being serious! Don't do it.

capacitors are a standard item and as long as you can get the details off of the blown cap they should be available from almost any good electrical supplier and I don't mean the DIY rip-off sheds.

They even do them here
