Yesterday I fixed the bandsaw once again. this time it was the bottom safety switch that had failed. Three in four weeks. However I have wired them out of the circuit altogether now and after a test run yesterday I finally cut the blanks I had hoped to cut two weeks ago. It worked and to be honest I was impressed with the way the Tuffsaws 3/8" sabrecut blade went through a mixture of walnut, cherry and oak. So today is the first time I have been able to run the saw twice from one fixing. The odd thing is it seemed fine each time when I fix it, but then wont work when I try to use it again. Hopefully that stage is now over.
here is a sample of what it did today. The tall round sections of cherry were cut from off cuts standing on their ends destined to be spindle turned into fruit.
