Hi Guys,

I have just purchased an Axminster AW10BSB2 10" saw bench and am looking for any recomendations on blades. I mostly work with oak around 1" thick which I want to cross cut and rip. At the moment I am favouring the Freud range - specifically the LP20M 24 Tooth for ripping and the LP40M 60 tooth for cross cutting.

Your thought/recomendations would be welcome.

Thanks

James

have a chat with Doug at Cutting Solutions- I had a blade from him and was very impressed with both price and the amount of carbide on the teeth.

The 24 tooth for ripping sounds about right. I had about 20 teeth on an 8" blade and it worked well (that was a freud blade actually). I cant remember what i used as a cross cut- it was around 30 IIRC, and more general purpose than dedicated cross cut.

I use a Freud blade and its fantastic. Nothing stops it.
I've only got a 3/4hp table saw but can easily rip 3" oak and beech.

I'm not sure on teeth but think its around 40ish

Thanks guys,

I have been in touch with Cutting Solutions and I think they will sort me out. Unfortunetaly the old piggy bank is looking somewhat empty at the moment as we have already started buying the kids pressents. I will be getting the blades for Christmas, I am now tryong to negotiate an early chrismas present as I was hoping to use the blades to make some of my presents - Catch 22.

Thanks for your help

Regards

James
