Ivexacquired an Axminster AWVFS fretsaw. These are no longer vail but are commonly used.

My question is what size/length blade can I use on these?

I hoped my 168mm coping saw blades would fit, but after tightening the knob on top to tension it, when I switch it on, the arm wont vibrate.

Any advice please.

I am hoping this isn't a wind up ;-)

Standard scroll saw blades are 5" or 127 to 130mm

I would suggest getting decent blades as they make life so much easier, and often cost less than the DIY store type

No it's not a wind up. I have another old/rusty scroll saw that takes coping saw blades. I assumed this other one void as well, but now I know the reason gorcnybproblem, I'll get the much shorter and proper blades.

I just wondered why no one else had replied ;-)

You will find Pegas blades as good as you can get

If your machine takes pinless, its worth noting they are about half the price of pinned blades
