I'm assuming the px12 is aimed at the diy'er/hobby end. In the US its going for around the £500 (converted) mark.

Edit - Just watched the video that's linked. Knowing nothing about electrics, is the 17amp draw a consequence of the US electrical system?

Peri....
my take on the electric draw would be because they will be using 110-120 volts...
not so sure the Htz will make that much diff.....
but guess some of our US participents will advise.....
I guess for ease of sale in Europe it'll have to be usable with a 13amp plug...
not everyone has easy access to a 16amp system.....

also for that weight 16lbs, most of the high stressed parts will be die cast ally......

Must say I'd be suprised if the cost would be low.....
if it's 500$ there I'd be thinking that here in Europe it'll closer to £650-700's...or more....

be interesting what Nick thinks, OFF THE RECORD of course......

anyone found the Chinese / Taiwan manufacturer for the spiral cutter heads.....
I have looked but not found anything yet....
all the best one and all from sunny Crete....today mid morning......

Yes. 17A at 110v is 1870W (about 2.5HP power draw).

On a UK ~230V supply 1870W would be drawn at 1870/230 ~= 8A.
