Some characters have "proper names" - like "ampersand" for "&" and "less than" and "greater than" for "<" and ">". Even the exclamation mark is called a "pling" by some programmers, but there doesn't seem to be a "proper name" for the @ sign.

That being the case, what would you call a wooden @ sign?

There's been quite a bit about scroll saws lately, so I thought I'd better try mine out. Made from an offcut of Pirana Pine, 150mm in diameter. No finish applied. :)

Nice one, Ray. Your saw gives you a clean finish.

Yes, I'm pleased with it, Gill, especially as it was done with the stock blade that came fitted to it.

As I'm a bit "computery" it will probably finish up as part of a sign that reads "Home is where you hang your @" :)

If the '@' is 150 mm, the whole sign is going to be massive!

Roger,

the exclamation mark is also know as a bang by us wierdo programmers

my fav is the good old octothorpe or the common a garder #

Nice @ by the way, could do with one me self this summer to stop the old slap head getting burned, sorry momentary lapse of reason there
