Give us a clue is it home grown? if so it could be a piece of very quick grown cherry I had some like that it came out of a old church yard!

Yes, it was on my wood pile here in the Telford/Chester region.

So Could be Cherry or Sycamore.
 
The question I wanted to ask (sorry its a bit disjointed) is how do I clean out the inside a bit better?

I think some form of (bowl) scraper?

Can any one recommend where i might get one from my neck of the woods?

That's quite plausable as the lad I got the wood off spoke of getting Sycamore.

Guys, I ve got loads of scrtach marks in the wood. How do I get them out?

I ve just been working it with a hand sander but still they won't come out.
