I was out in the forest behind my house looking for wood for a bow however most of what I found was either ash or birch. on my way home I noticed a some holly leaves, there were about three small holly saplings. right next to them I saw this tree. I'm not sure what species it is, my guess is that it's holly but I'm not certain because of it's height and there were no holly leaves on it. if anyone knows what species this is it would be greatly appreciated if you let me know. I'm going to go ahead and dry it out anyway hopefully it will make a good bow.

Cherry seems pretty likely, its too brittle for a bow. Ash makes a good bow, holly makes a great bow, hazel is better than both. What wood were you hoping to find? Or were you looking for something clean and straight?
