Hi all, clearing out a friends shed the other day and came across this tapered stone, think it’s for sharpening something specific maybe?
im sure I’ve seen one of these before but can’t remember what it’s for. Might be mistaken - maybe something entirely useless but Google hasn’t helped me figure it out!

I've never seen a tapered square scythe stone they're usually lozenge shaped.

It's a stone for sharpening profile tools, I've got a small box of them which I use on gouges and planes.

I'll post a photo of them later.
