Hi David

CLS is short for Canadian Lumber System.

I've used it to underpin the plywood flooring in my garage.

I made the frame for a gate, last year, out of CLS after having been told that it had excellent qualities for outdoor work. I was told not to do anything to it for a year. I'm sure somebody on this forum has used it to make a fence with seemingly good results.

You can get CLS from virtually all timber merchants and B&Q sell it as well.

I decided not to make the gate completely out of CLS as I thought it would be too heavy and out of keeping with the fence. The frame has become paler with a sort of golden sheen.

Cheers

If you go into Google and put in Canadian Lumber System it will give you a link that tells you all about CLS.

I'd put the link here but I don't know how to do it.

You can just cut and paste the URL directly into the post from the address bar at the top of your browser.

I didn't know this one either, until I Googled for it a while back. Thought it stood for Canadian Lumber Standard though? :?
