What do the symbols represent?

in the left hand column of the forum pages. That bell shape inside a circle. And why do some of them flash?

Probably something to do with new posts. I personally just read through the unread posts items at the top, so if it is listed there is at least the last post in the thread that I haven't seen.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and all is revealed.

To me it seems that the white ones are 'read', the yellow are 'unread' and the wobbling yellow ones are 'unread with multiple pages'.

I could be wrong but that's what it seems to me.

Or maybe the wobbling ones are the ones you've viewed before but have new posts?
