Evening, chaps - Used in all sorts of adjustable, mainly metal, things - Little metal rods a couple or a few inches long that you poke through a hole, having a spring-loaded bit at the end you turn 90deg to stop it coming out again?

If it's chandlery, it probably won't be cheap anywhere. Can you use a bolt with a cotter pin, or a Clevis pin?

If you're fixing into domestic walls, consider Intersets*:

instead of toggles. The big advantage is that they don't drop down inside the wall when you remove the bolt. Also dead easy to set with the special tool (not expensive). There's usually a little bit of float (around 1mm for the M5 thread), and you can swap the supplied Pozi head for a hex or Allen bolt if that's easier (adds to the cost, obviously), and, once set, use a shorter bolt too, if clearance to the rear is an issue.

Spring toggles are the spawn of Satan.
