I have just rediscovered these in a box in my garage:

Purchased about 12 years ago, from a now defunct tool shop by Archway station, these were labelled 'Scraper blades' and I bought them to chop up into mini plane irons.

Any idea what they were for? Googling the various Stanley scraper planes didn't reveal anything particularly similar. They're sharpened with a circa 45 degree bevel on 2 opposite edges, 1 side flat, the other with a convex radius.

No problem Setch, it looks as if you'll have customers lining up! The Stanley/Record 80 scrapers are a brilliant bit of kit.

Even so, if you don't have one, a couple of spare blades are very useful in their own right. ;););)
