I was shopping today and saw a box of clementines for sale only on getting them home did i realise that the box was laser cut out of hardboard.then subsequently fully covered on the outside by full colour printing

What must all of this cost in both materials and time and energy over a bag
Its not as if the box is usefull for future use
All for £2.79 too with the oranges included

I would have thought it’s probably die cut with carbon used to lubricate.
 
A thick pile laser cut in one go, biodegradable, cost pennies and eliminates the use of a plastic bag.
