I found this in amongst some of my Dads old stuff, the dovetail end had paint on it but it was all polished brass underneath, the rounded end is polished on the face and on all edges but it doesn’t have any fixing holes in it.
The cam locks it at 90 degrees both ways.
I assume it’s some kind of stop but never seen another one.

It's a "Citadel" bolt. Sold as burglar-proof.
So say my Skeet & Jeffes Ltd catalogue from 1950.
Little other information, it's in the cupboard bolts section, but I think it's more for a privacy type lock.
