Wet Sanding

Couple of questions if I may. I use Renwax for finishing after Cellulose sanding sealer, can I mix Renwax with mineral oil for wet sanding and is that just the final finish as well?

The wax may seal the wood surface but I doubt you will get any sort of reliable shine, mineral oil is none polymerising so will not form a surface skin just provide a degree of moisture resistance until dried or washed out.

What wood species are you wet sanding? the process is usually reserved for open pored woods that benefit from some slurry filling of the pores to close/clog the surface to obtain the finish required.

I just watched it used on Elm and the finish looked pretty good.
