■Course summary
Interested in a career in carpentry and joinery? Our workshop-based practical course will allow you to develop your skills by working with a wide range of specialist tools and different woods. You'll take part in activities to develop your confidence and skills and visit construction sites to experience a major project in progress. You'll also get to work with other trades to develop your teamworking skills and learn from industry experts who'll give you hands-on experience of a wide range of techniques.
■What equipment or resources might I need?
You will need protective overalls and footwear and also drawing equipment.
■Milestone Reviews
Your personal tutor will regularly review your progress against your milestone targets and make sure you stay 'on course' to achieve.
■Learner Achievements and Destinations
The achievement rate for learners who completed was high and they went on to a variety of destinations including: Further courses at Level 2, Employment in the Construction industry and Apprenticeships.
