Welsh Coffer

I fancied making something with arched panels, to show off design and manufacture, I chose a gothic arced panel coffer, finished with Fiddes Jacobian stain and finished with two coats of wax oil

Dunno what a coffer is, but it looks a pretty nice bit of workmanship.
Any chance of a bit more light on it?

this was a older coffer I done, carved out panels this was fumed in a tent with ammonia and finished with oil finish

Nice work Steve. I much prefer the fumed design and finish. I am not keen on the Jacobean, but as long as the customer was that is what matters. Great carving on the 2nd one.
