Way to stop visor/ goggles steaming up ?

I bought a sand compressor blaster to have a go with and it works great on metal, hopefully I'll try it on some wood sometime. It comes with a cloth hood type visor but it steams up shortly after putting it on. Im wearing a cartridge filter dusk mask but everything's steaming up. Whats fairly cheap on the market but will still provide adequate protection and clear vision so I can use it safely ? Bit gutted really that I can't finish what I started today but I can't risk carrying on. It'll only be once in a blue moon so needing the bee's knee's or anything.

Hi

Take a tapping from the compressor line and blow air across the inside of the screen - you don't need much airflow.

Old biker's tip:-

Put a drop or two of neat washing-up liquid on a wad of kitchen roll and wipe thoroughly all over the inside of the visor. You only need the barest presence.

For diving masks I spit and smear on the inside of the lens, some people use Fairy liquid or other proprietary solutions, but I never found the need.

Never had a problem, even when diving under ice.

Thanks a lot guys fairy liquid seems to do the trick ! Just need some decent lighting now and wait for the dust to settle :lol:

I suppose the best way would be to make blast cabinet.
I've got this spare

Which would keep things clear and save putting gazebo up every time

Hi

That grit in the air will settle on everything and ruin machinery in no time - you need to contain it or blast outside, (if you can).

Luckily machines are on other side of wall but I've stopped again as it doesn't seem right doing it inside and getting dust everywhere. I'll try and do it outside tomorrow if the weather's good

Edit : think it needs to be in a cupboard or something. I've got grit between my toes and it's killed the desk lamp I was using !- must be quite dangerous stuff ! Needs to be-

Easy to use

Movable- castors

Window- I've got lots of toughened panes so maybe 3 sides glass if it doesn't break

finally it needs to be finished by Tuesday so everything's back to normal :lol:
