Hi everyone I’m new to this site, I have been turning on and off for 50 years, I have a Wadkin RS and have been trying for a long time to buy a new banjo as that was missing when I acquired the lathe. Any help would be appreciated

I seem to remember one on evilbay. It was being sold by a guy who I think breaks them and it was something stupid like £200. There's a faceplate there now, probably the same bloke. If you find one you'll pay through the nose for it.

Unless you get very lucky, its going to be expensive. Wadkin spares are hard to come by as people have a (possibly inflated) idea of their value. I'm currently try to get hold of the patternmakers carriage for my RS. If wallace doesn't have one I know a chap who might - but it won't be cheap.

I'd love to see some photos of your RS - and a pikkie of the Wadkin tag (showing machine and test numbers).

Cheers, Vann.
