Hi. I am looking to get a Wadkin LM borer and was wondering if a mortice chisel could be used as well as a chuck? Any info on this machine would be really helpful.
Hi Dan I have one of these, the motor runs at 2500rpm so probably too fast for morticeing. They are really nice to use once cleaned and lubed, quite heavy as all of wadkin stuff is. Heres a link to a wadkin catalogue, its in there.
Hi Collin. I plan on using it like a pillar drill, but for forming mortices etc as well as boring, possibly sanding material to thickness with a drum sander. Thinking of wiring up an inverter with it to vary the speed if possible? Thanks for the links Mark - really helpful, great restoration project there!
