Hello,

I have restored a wadkin BOAS/12. I need some advice on setting up the plainer thicknesser to get the in feed and out feed rollers set to the correct height as per the manuals that you can download (See Attached) The manual says the in feed roller should be 3mm below the cutter head. How is this achieved as the in feed roller is controlled with spring pressure. I see no way of setting this unless I use a shim between the roller feed housing and the main casting.

Would someone be so kind as to post a photograph or something that would give me a clue please.

I have attached a couple of photos of what I started with and what I have today.

Kind Regards
Ian,

If they are the original set, you can’t and dont need to adjust them. I believe the blocks where milled to achieve the required gap when it was made. Just bolt them back on. You may need to adjust the tension springs.
