hello from a newbie
I am looking for advice on a vintage Stanley electric drill. It's a XK350 four speed; 2 speeds on the trigger and 2 in the gearbox. When the speed selector(mechanical) is set to 2 by dint of twisting a switch, chuck rotates at speed. When set to 1, chuck rotates with slip and you can stop its rotation with just a little grip of the fingers. I disassembled and saw the nylon selector rising and falling with selector. The gears are metal and show no signs of wear. There is no screw to remove the chuck, just a nut behind. The motor brushes are excellent, so I don't think the drill has had much use. The drill is, cosmetically, in fine form. I bought the drill to use in my vintage Stanley drill stand. I lead a kid's Saturday club and woodwork-related activities are popular, so getting this fixed makes life easier.
Thanks in advance.
