Hi,
I've been given a Backgammon board to repair. It's not of the best quality but has sentimental value. Apparently, a wooden shelf fell onto it corner on and this has punched a rectangular slot thru' one side. The MDF substrate has delaminated into several layers but I feel that with careful removal of these layers they could be reassembled in the correct order and glued and clamped.
Here's my query. I've never worked veneer onto MDF before and I'm concerned that my usual hot hide glue may cause the MDF to expand irreversibly due to the moisture content. Don't know if anyone might like to comment on this or possibly suggest another glue type that may be more suitable.
Thanks
Alan
