Well, the box started off with just 1 Match but they just kept multiplying through the years!

I also found this near the matches - looks like a receipt for buying the house, back in 1969. That's close to CC's year estimate...

Even in 1969, you couldn't buy a house for £9!
As the receipt is from a magistrates court, I'd guess someone had had to pay a fine.

Took off some skirting at ours - whoever put it up filled out any gaps behind with folded up scrap paper.

All hand written lists with dates in the 1860s.

I'll see if I can't get a photo.
