Hello all

I am starting to work a lot with ply and MDF sheet goods, which gives rise to veneering. Can anybody recommend a vacuum press system that might suit somebody with no prior experience? Is there much of a learning curve to veneering with a vacuum press?

From what I can gather, it is the method most likely to give good results, although I havent access to an expert to confirm my thoughts.

cheers

I was in a similar situation recently and got a bag kit from bagpress who happen to be local and very helpful too. I didn't want to invest in the rather expensive vacuum pump so got a venturi kit from them that runs off my air compressor. It all works really well and was easily the simplest/stressfree method I've used so far. Entire set up cost about 180 quid.

Custard/Doctor Bob gave me a few pointers which saved some trouble - search for a thread on ripple maple a few weeks ago.
