Hi all,

I've got an oak garden table ready to go off to its new home and was wondering how best to give it some protection from the sun. New owner will probably want to top it up every six months or a year or so and at least slow the silvering process.

Osmo do something called "one coat only" but they don't seem to have a clear option, only colours, and their other UV protection stuff is for vertical surfaces only.

Cheers.

I use Sikkens products.....
our rental prop has tons of outside hardwood furniture....we just use teak oil every once in a while.....
not so worried about the sun and we get plenty, it's just the rain in the winter that bugs me.....
now building a big lean-too to put it all in.....

I'd have trouble recommending Osmo TBH. It seems to take forever to dry. I suspect it's something I am doing wrong, but on some bench slats it took weeks - genuinely. Even on a door frame it was a week.

Air seasoned Oak in both cases.

I don't think I'll be giving it another go. It does seem to last tho.
