Using Dominr biscuits with router

Has anybody used the Domino biscuits with a standard router? I cannot afford the Domino machine so I was thinking of using a router with a home made jig of some sort. It is for a side board in oak.

There is no reason why you cannot construct a simple morticing Jig to insert the dominos in a number of projects
