Ages ago I saw a design fro a set of sprung loaded brass rods that were pushed down by the lid on a box and pushed though the carcass of a box to lock a draw, great idea one lock on the lid controls the whole thing.

I am no metal worker but I could probably mess something together to do this but would rather lay my hands on some nice quality fixtures.

Has anyone either seen these things for sale or has a really good design for them that I could use to get them made?

Thanks

Martyn

Hi Martyn.....I know Gerstner have one of these in there replacement parts section:

http://www.gerstnerusa.com/hardware.htm

"Part# 139 Lid Pin (3" or 4") w/spring, 2 bushings and 1 eyelet."

Its right near the bottom, I don't know how easy it is to order stuff of them so it might be worth a look through the Lee Valley stuff first......
Will you let me know if you find another source?

my metal mechanics toolchest has this facility so when you
press down the lid, it stops all the drawers dropping
our when you move it.

maybe blum do it too, will check my cd,
paul

Martyn you used to find these on all of the old engineers toolchest, or rather those without the closing front panel.
I have seen them on leevalley's website and also on Gerstner's site. However they should not be hard to make for yourself.
