Not sure I didn't prefer the old one. It was a bit classier, I thought. :(

Still going to go and have a drool though, just to refresh my memory...

WTF was the web designer thinking?

The top graphic on the home page is overcompressed at 10K. The result is poor colour, and very visible JPEG artefacts.

http://www.lie-nielsen.com/imgs/clamptop.jpg
Browsing to
http://www.lie-nielsen.com/tool.html?id=95
we find the image
http://www.lie-nielsen.com/images/95.jpg
has been scaled (a bit) in the browser, resulting in a poor quality screen image, and redundant data transfer.

The page for the #4 1/2
http://www.lie-nielsen.com/tool.html?id=4_5
has an image that shows both problems; over compressed AND scaled in the browser
http://www.lie-nielsen.com/images/4_5prop.jpg
I stopped looking after that.

Yeah, I was going to comment on that (and the rest), but didn't 'cos:
a) I whinge about stuff like this altogether too much already, and it gets me into trouble
b) I didn't know the technical name for "rubbish picture"

And is it me, or is that font a bit "busy"? I like a serif as much as the next person, but in this case, well, I dunno. :? Perhaps the designer was too busy drooling instead of concentrating on the task in hand. :D
