Found this in my new house... can anyone identify what it is and what it does?

looks like part of an old hand pressurized camping stove of the type that used to be used by the post ww2 german army

That's what I thought at first sight, but the 3 teeth in the middle retract or extend when the main plate is rotated. Almost like a chuck.

Could it be one of those food warmers that use solid (jelly) fuel? Moving the lever opens/closes the "iris" so adjusting the height of the flame. Dunno really, just a guess, but if so the "pot" (holder) is missing.

Yeah looks like it, I found this side view of what looks like the same thing on google images.
