I'm trying to source one of these at present (the WR510), and every UK stockist I can identify is out of stock. Are these becoming unavailable, or just coincidence? I'll drop the manufacturer an email if I can't suss out availability.

I think machine DRO are the main UK agent so It ay be worth contacting them first. I expect they are waiting for new stock to come in.

Hold your plane upside down, repeatedly run a bit of roughly 2mm thick wood down the sole, working in from the outer edges of the sole on both sides. When you start to take shavings at the same point in from each edge, and the shaving in the centre is the thickness you want, then your plane is correctly set.

I'd normally set a metal bodied plane completely by eye, but for very fine finishing strokes or when setting up a wooden bodied plane or sometimes even with a shoulder plane, this is the method I use. It works, it's fast, and it's free.

Good luck!
