UF / PVA Glue Spreaders. Must be a cheaper option?

I think I posted about this a few years back, but to no avail, but has anyone found a viable alternative to the current offerings?

could you make something from a paint roller frame by adding a hopper? Then when done, pop the head off and into a bag until next time.

I would have thought that it would be simple enough to knock up, even if you had to make the entire frame.

I suppose you could potentially make one, but I was rather hoping I could just find a cheap off the shelf alternative. Not that I am lazy or anything ...

Not cheaper but you can buy the constituents parts to build one.
