This subject may have already been covered but here goes. I have a large quantity of hss twist drill all somewhat worse for wear. I am considering buying one of those sharpening gadgets but I am wary as they might not do a great job.
I know that they can be sharpened by eye on the grinder but I have loads and I am not that great at free hand sharpening of bits.

Does anyone have a twist drill sharpener that is a worth while tool?

Thanks to all in advance

Yes but some experimentation and possible fettling of the jig is worthwhile.
I use the jig that you mount on a bench grinder. like this http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~chrish/ca ... /djig1.jpg
If you are starting with a broken drill, the rough grind by hand to approximate shape and then mount on the jig.
Small drills show up short-comings in most jigs. Below 4mm drills are hardly worth sharpening this way as the results are disappointing.
