I bought a T5 router for its rather nice fine-height adjuster in March 2012. I hadn't used it that much as I have a couple of router tables with their own dedicated router plus a couple of other hand-held jobbies.

So you can imagine my surprise when the other day a burning plasticky smell wafted out from it as the top bearing had seized and then gayly spun itself round and round in the plastic housing. Strictly speaking the T5 was out of warranty (although since Feb this year you can register for extended warranties FOC on some new routers which is rather good) but Trend repaired for me FOC.

its so nice to hear the good customer service some companies provide.
normally you only get to hear the bad service stories, so thanks for sharing that.

Nice to hear. I'd always assumed Trend was one of those *usually* overpriced gadgety type suppliers that wouldn't really stand out from the crowd once they have your money.

I'm very glad to be proven wrong in my assumptions, and I may well reconsider the mini Trend T4 router that I'd decided against on the basis of your comment.

Glad to hear someone else putting positive experiences up, they are so outweighed by negatives in general, I started feeling like a real "FanBoy" when I commented on the good things Axminster and some others had done for me.
