I just gave a whole kit free to my next door neighbor to car boot.

I do quite a few doors but that kit just takes toooo long to set up it’s far easier just to get stuck in with a spade bit a good knife and a sharp chisel.

If you’re doing a house full all the same then it’s a different matter.

I had to install a dozen oak doors recently as part of our refurb. I made my own jigs out thin mdf and timber offcuts to allow the use of holesaws and my small router with guide bushes. They only needed a final tweak with a chisel. I used them for fitting the door furniture, locks and hinges.

The advantage of this was zero cost just a bit of time making the jigs.

Thank you so much all of you, for your advice. I usually use chisel, auger bits but struggling with external timber doors (solid wood). Thats why I wanted to try router with this jig.
