Totally New Idea - Candle Holders

Little flurry of activity over at the WiZeR camp....

I thought up this idea all on my own, it's completely original... :^o

The three at the back are american black walnut, offcuts from a future project.

The front two are sicilian olive wood.

Yep, you guessed it, Chris helped me here too. We attempted to cut the round one on the pillar drill but it wasn't working out. So Chris roughed it out on the bandsaw and I finished with my new spokeshave. The edges of the walnut holders were finished with differing router bits. The shapes where cut out on the scroll saw and again finished with the spokeshave.

Danish oil was the finish of choice, dunno where I got that idea either... :wink:

Should make interesting stocking fillers.

Those are very nice. May I borrow your idea and try my hand at some of those? I have plenty of small bits of wood that I'd hate to burn without hacking at them a bit more.
