Spot on Noel - Ballyhaunis is my local town! Still has the accolade as the smelliest town in Ireland unfortunately, although the smell fortunately doesn't reach me at home

Thanks for the Crowley Hardwoods link - they say they deliver nationwide so it might be just what I'm looking for. I occasionally pass through Ennis so next time I'll drop in and see what they have...thanks again :D

Neil, you could also try James McGregor in Belfast. They are importers specialising in hardwoods. If I find their website I will post it here for you.

Hi Jeff,

I'm forgotten about McGregors And I see they stock Purple Heart, which I've never seen over here.
Well that makes 5 of us and I think there's a Geoff from Newcastle, Co Down lurking in the turning section. Not being too nosey but where abouts are you? It can be quite handy, epsecially when you need to source tools, fittings and hardware, knowing that somebody may have "local knowledge" etc.

Hi,
I am just a plain (getting) old english man  who has bought and used the toggle clamps from Axminster.
Remember this thread was about toggle clamps
Anyway if you look in the gallery you can see one of mine on a jig for notching chair slats, very useful when there are lots to do. :D

So Dave you can't say anything against the quality of the Axminster toggle clamps?

Does anyone even know if all those toggle clamps are the same only rebranded?

Hey CYC,

I've a few of the type B Axminster toggles. I've only ever used them for holding non square timber on a homemade sledge and running through the table saw. as long as they're well screwed down can't see any problem with them.

Noel

PS I think this post might just be on topic.........

Not much help as I can't remember who makes the Wealden ones, but they definitely weren't their own.

Cheers
Neil

PS Definitely on message. :D
