...is, if you want nice clean holes in something round drill it while its square!
now on MK2 october challenge as mark one is a splintered mess :( #-o

i was trying to drill into the side of a cylinder. i wrapped it tightly in gaffer tape and tried both spur bits and normal twist drill bits but both had break out and break in :shock: and made a right mess of my nicely finished cylinder. :evil:
so MK2 was drilled while it was square stock and then turned to a cylinder, lovely neat sharp edged holes :D
lesson learned :mrgreen:

That, believe it or not Nev, was going to be my suggestion. Along with drill before you turn. That is the way that I have done it after learning otherwisw, but I must admit, I probably would have done it your way to start :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
