I had a great day in the workshop today!

Have a look at what I got :)

Numatic wet and dry vacuum

SIP extractor

Both of these cost me.....

Nothing, zip, zilch, nada, zero!

Can you believe it?!?!?!

I acquired them because they were apparently not working, so I thought I would take a shot at fixing them as they would be awesome for my uses and if they cost £50 each to fix then they were still a good deal!

Well I got them home and put two new plugs on them ( the originals were cut off for some reason), plugged them in to see what I had to work with and what do you know..... They both fired up first time with no issues at all!

Chuffed is an understatement!

The only things that are needed are:

A new filter for the numatic
A longer length of hose for the extractor.

Both of these will cost pennies to sort out which is a bit of a result :)

Just thought I would share my finds with you guys!

Thanks for the replies guys!

I got the machines from a local joinery shop just up the road from me. They said that both of them were broken and that I could have them which was a bit of a result!

I have seen some people use dryer ducting, is this suitable? I am not going to be using the extractor constantly as it is mainly for weekends and some evening use so I don't think that really heavy duty ducting will be cost effective.

Also does anyone have any idea as to where I can get a filter for the vacuum?

Thanks!

At my last job prior to retirement the PAT chap used to cut off the mains plug from anything that failed his tests. I wonder if that is what happened to your stuff?

Good find Adam

You say you wasn't some pipe work for the extractor, well Rutlands today have what I think is a good deal on these 10 feet x 4 inch £25 delivered clear stuff as well, hope this helps

That's half the length for more than I remember paying them 2 years ago...

Not really - it's too flimsy
