Quite a few recipes benefit from a small amount of dark chocolate (e.g. chili con carne).

But it's "quite difficult" not to finish off the rest of the yummy bar having opened it (which is why you'll have to open another bar next time).

My answer is - good quality cocoa powder. Serves an identical cooking purpose, but you're less likely to chow your way through the rest of it!
