TIMBER YARDS/MERCHANTS

Is there a timber yard similar to YANDLES around the West Midlands area please. The selection down there is enormous and although we love to go down, it's a bit far and it would be good to find something nearer that a 2 hour drive from this area.

Particularly would like to get hold of walnut and spalted woods

Good Timber have a wide selection of timber although their prices have increased recently. They have a price list on their website. I've bought Oak and Cherry from them. They are off the A5 south west of Northampton so not far from you.

Roger................, that was a great tip for Sykes Timber at Atherstone. Took a run over there this morning and only took me just over half an hour. Met with Ben Donnelly at Sykes and he couldn't have been more helpful in showing me loads of offcuts and discussing other timber that he got from the enormous supplies they have. Came away with some lovely timber and spent more than I should have if SWMBO were with me, but it was worth it.

Will certainly be using them again in the future and highly recommend Ben at Sykjes to sort out a good deal for you from the widest rang I have seen.
