They are going to start cutting a lot of trees down near me soon and the boy have asked me if i would like any of them i haven,t got a lathe as yet and don,t know if i will / Can you recommend what tree,s i should look out for i will have room hopefully to store them by then i would eventually like to cut them down and make a few band saw box,s tee lights ect what do you think ??

Literally any hardwood. Fruit woods are always nice for turning.

If there are any real sawlogs in and if there is a small sawmill somewhere in your area who would saw them for you this would be a great opportunity. SUPER CHEAP TIMBER
