Firstly, if you're a professional, you already know this - I'm not, and it was a shock when I actually realized :)

In my shed today I was idly thinking about another post here where people were talking about saw blades.

I purchased a new FTG blade from Doug at Cutting Solutons a while ago. It cost more than the £25'ish I normally pay, and after VAT and postage, more than I could easily pay without wincing!! :D

Putting one of Doug's professional blades up against one of the normal Freud or generic blades, it's easy to see where the money goes.

Doug's actually looks more like a milling blade that I'd use on a horizontal milling machine at work !

Definitely money well spent :)

I guess the Freud and the 'P' are expected to be used and thrown away, whereas the good one has plenty of meat available for a regrind.
