Lots of good info and pictures. I just missed the end of the era - in the 1980s I used to spend a lot of time around Old Street and Tabernacle Street visiting companies in the pre-press printing industry, and a lot of the old workshops were standing empty.

Sorry for digging up an old topic (although not that old) but this link is brilliant, thanks a lot for posting it.

I spent the past 8 years living in east London (from Whitechapel moving slowly north to Stoke Newington) and never once heard about its history of furniture. It's as if it never existed. So thank you for enlightening me.
